What’s in a Name

What's in a Name – a domain name, that is?
Well, if you’re a domain investor, the right domain name can be worth millions of dollars. Yes, I did say millions. I know that seems incredible, but you need to understand the market for good domain names is huge.
Don’t believe me yet?
According to industry research, the domain name industry is currently worth $2 billion, and it will grow to over $4 billion by the year 2010! That’s pretty amazing.
An average domain name can be purchased for less than ten dollars and be resold for several hundred dollars within a few days. Each and every day ordinary people just like you and me are buying cheap domain names and making money with them in no time at all. And it’s simple once you know the secrets.
For the active domain investor, a simple name can yield big-time profits. For example, in July 2007, the domain name, Chinese.com, was sold by Sedo.com for over $1.1 million. During that same auction, resume.com sold for $300,000.00 and spices.com sold for $220,000.00. A few days ago, villas.com sold for $600,000. Currently, there are whispers in the marketplace that Google is looking to pay a five figure sum for knol.com - a LLLL.com domain name.
