There is really no getting around it, when you own a dollar store your end cap displays are just about the most valuable real estate inside your store.  That is true if they are properly managed anyway.  This value comes from the dollar store sales and dollar store profits your end cap displays can generate for your dollar store.  Read on as I present 6 important tips about end cap management for those who own a dollar store.

#1) Recognize exactly what end caps can and cannot do for your store.  When you own a dollar store you will soon learn end cap displays provide the opportunity to showcase dollar store merchandise.  This platform provides the chance for you to attract attention and build dollar store sales and dollar store profits when the right items are selected.  Don’t expect end cap displays of proven dollar store merchandise losers to do well.  You are much better off displaying hot new arrivals, special purchases of popular items, and first time arrivals.

#2) Fill your end cap displays full – keep them full at all times.  It is a simple truth; fully stocked shelves of dollar store merchandise create more dollar store sales and dollar store profits for your business.  To help maximize sales from all your end caps be sure they are always organized and fully stocked.

#4) Plan your displays in advance.  Always place the hottest deals facing the front and at the front of your store.  Then work the end caps displaying dollar store merchandise with the largest inventory on-hand toward the back of the store.  Using this strategy allows you to always keep shoppers just entering your store pleased to see new items on display.  It also provides adequate time to sell out of the highest inventory items as well.

#5) When you own a dollar store make it your practice to purchase dollar store merchandise for end cap displays in advance of the need.  Always be on the lookout for sales, closeouts and liquidations of high quality, in-demand merchandise.  Buy extra and target purchases of these items for end cap display.  Following this strategy will add dollar store profits as these items will sell out quickly.

#6) Never allow the end caps in your store to look in disarray.  Shoppers will have a tendency to walk past poorly stocked and displayed merchandise.   Avoid losing dollar store sales from your end caps by establishing a daily schedule to check and straighten all of the end caps in your store.  You will be rewarded as sales and dollar store profits grow for your business.
